Cabell County residents are used to accidents occurring on I-64. A recent car accident that involved several vehicles closed a lane of the highway for several hours and resulted in at least one person being injured.
The accident happened on Dec. 28 in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 15 1/5. Currently, it is unknown how the accident happened, but according to authorities, the accident involved at least one vehicle and a tractor-trailer. Other vehicles are also believed to have been involved.
According to authorities one vehicle rolled over. A person that was in the vehicle was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The types and severity of the person’s injuries is unknown. No other injuries were reported.
In order for authorities to determine how the accident occurred, they will need to determine how many vehicles were involved and figure out how each vehicle collided with each other. Investigators will also speak with all the drivers involved in the accident, as well as any witnesses who might have seen the accident occur. Once the cause of the accident has been found, anyone who might be held as responsible will be identified.
