An accident in West Virginia that involved one car has claimed the lives of two young individuals. The man and woman were both just 20 years old, and many in the community dedicated time to remembering their lives after the accident. Both died at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the vehicle lost control as the car went around a curve. As the small Ford Focus came out of that curve, it slammed into a power pole, killing both the young passenger and driver. The accident caused a major power outage that forced the local middle and high school to be dismissed early.
Power remained off for the area for most of the day as investigators worked to piece together, forming a reconstruction of the crash and learning valuable information about the incident. The power utility pole was severely damaged and power lines fell dangerously around the pole and onto the ground. One lane of the road was finally opened once more about 5 hours after the crash.
Statements from eyewitnesses who were at the scene raise suspicion that suggests that reckless driving might have played a part in this incident. The witnesses stated that the small for focus and another silver vehicle were traveling down the street at a high rate of speed just before the crash.
Reckless driving kills many around the country each year. For anyone who has been the victim of these kinds of accidents, speaking to an experienced attorney could be beneficial.
